First class and 9/21 class

Greetings...

A couple of comments re the first class. I apologize for the rough start and thank you for you patience and cooperation. As I said, because of how I want to run this course, the room size and set up is important. I am hoping that we we can continue to meet in the same room each week. I will be there early enough to scout things out and see if there are any conflicts. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

For the next session we will continue with some introductory material about learning and critical thinking. I will be going back to the concept of critical thinking frequently!

Sitting in a room of your peers, with your college degrees and three years of graduate work behind you, you have earned the right to read slides for yourself and to be spoken with and not to. I want all the learning to be collaborative. I want to hear what you all have to say. I can probably give you answers to most of the questions you have and feel confident that the majority of those answers will be correct. What I really want is for you, as a group, to come up with some answers of your own. I assure you that the problems you solve by yourselves, either individually or collaboratively will stay with you much longer than the answers given by me or any other instructors.

I will be posting at least one link to a video and maybe more. Please look at the video(s) and be prepared to discuss and comment. Again, don't obsess...just be ready to throw out your observations for discussion by the group.

If you have any questions email me ggmolnar@comcast.net.

See you Tuesday...

PS  Thanks for posting topics to the comments. We can start with a couple this week and see how that goes. Seems like clinical 'stuff' will be popular...
